Turn off the ignition, lights, and all accessories
Put the car in park or neutral and set the parking brake
Open the hood and locate the battery
Identify the positive terminal marked with a plus sign or red cover
Identify the negative terminal marked with a minus sign or black cover
Connect the positive cable to the positive terminal first
Tighten the positive connection securely
Connect the negative cable to the negative terminal second
Tighten the negative connection securely
Make sure both clamps are firmly attached and cannot move
Close the hood after confirming the battery is connected properly
