Plug in your Alexa device and wait for it to power on
Install the Amazon Alexa app on your phone or tablet
Open the Alexa app and sign in to your Amazon account
Make sure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi
In the Alexa app, select Devices
Tap the plus icon to add a device
Choose Amazon Echo or the Alexa device you want to set up
Follow the on-screen setup steps
Select your Wi-Fi network
Enter your Wi-Fi password
Wait for Alexa to connect to the internet
Test the connection by asking Alexa a question
