Plug in your Alexa device and wait for the light ring to turn on
Download the Amazon Alexa app on your phone or tablet
Sign in with your Amazon account
Open the Alexa app
Tap Devices
Tap the plus sign
Tap Add Device
Select your Alexa device type
Follow the on-screen setup instructions
Connect Alexa to your Wi-Fi network
Enter your Wi-Fi password if prompted
Wait for the device to finish connecting
Test Alexa by saying a wake word and a simple command
Set up preferences in the Alexa app if needed
