How To Cook Cabbage On Stove?

Remove any wilted outer leaves from the cabbage

Rinse the cabbage under cold water

Cut the cabbage into quarters

Remove the core

Slice or chop the cabbage into desired pieces

Heat a skillet or pot over medium heat

Add butter, oil, or both

Add chopped onion or garlic if desired

Add the cabbage to the pan

Stir to coat the cabbage with the fat

Add a small amount of salt and pepper

Cover the pan with a lid

Cook for 5 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally

Add a splash of water or broth if the pan gets dry

Cook until the cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp, or longer for softer cabbage

Taste and adjust seasoning

Serve hot
