Rinse the fresh green beans under cold water
Trim off the stem ends
Leave beans whole or cut into smaller pieces
Fill a pot with water and add a pinch of salt
Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat
Add the green beans to the boiling water
Cook for 4 to 6 minutes until tender-crisp
Drain the beans in a colander
Return the beans to the pot if desired
Add butter, olive oil, salt, and pepper
Toss and serve immediately
