Wash the yellow squash and zucchini
Trim off the ends
Slice them into rounds, half-moons, or sticks
Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat
Add the squash and zucchini to the skillet
Season with salt and pepper
Cook for 5 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender
Add garlic, onions, or herbs if desired
Remove from heat and serve warm
