How to Cut Onions for Onion Rings?

Peel off the dry outer skin

Trim off both ends of the onion

Place the onion on its side on a cutting board

Slice the onion crosswise into even rounds

Make each slice about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick

Separate the slices into individual rings

Remove the smallest inner pieces if needed

Use the largest outer rings for onion rings

Keep the rings intact for battering and frying
