Measure and mark the cut line on the rebar
Secure the rebar in a vise or clamp
Wear safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection
Use a rebar cutter, angle grinder with a metal cutoff wheel, reciprocating saw with a metal blade, or hacksaw
Align the cutting tool with the marked line
Cut steadily without forcing the tool
Let the tool do the work
Support the cut-off piece to prevent binding or pinching
Smooth sharp edges with a file or grinder
Clean the work area and remove metal debris
