Check whether your drive is an HDD or SSD
Open the Start menu
Search for Defragment and Optimize Drives
Open the app
Select the drive you want to optimize
Click Analyze to check fragmentation
Click Optimize to defragment an HDD
Let the process finish without shutting down the computer
Repeat for other HDD drives if needed
Do not defragment an SSD
Use the built-in schedule if you want automatic optimization
Close the window when done
