Check the drive for bad sectors
Use Windows Error Checking tool
Open File Explorer
Right-click the C drive
Select Properties
Open the Tools tab
Click Check
Scan for malware
Run a full antivirus scan
Boot into Safe Mode if Windows is unstable
Use System Restore if available
Uninstall recent problematic updates or software
Update storage drivers
Check the drive’s health with SMART tools
Replace the drive if hardware failure is detected
Reinstall Windows if repair steps fail
