Use over-the-counter ear drops to soften wax
Place a few drops of mineral oil, baby oil, glycerin, or hydrogen peroxide in the ear
Let the drops sit for a few minutes
Tilt your head to let the wax and liquid drain out
Gently rinse the outer ear with warm water using a bulb syringe
Dry the ear thoroughly afterward
Repeat for a few days if needed
Stop if you feel pain, dizziness, or worsening symptoms
Do not use cotton swabs or other objects inside the ear
See a doctor if the wax does not come out, hearing loss continues, or you have ear pain or discharge
