Let the engine cool completely
Park on a level surface
Gather coolant, drain pan, funnel, gloves, and safety glasses
Locate the radiator drain valve or lower radiator hose
Place the drain pan under the drain point
Open the radiator cap only when the engine is cool
Open the drain valve or remove the lower hose
Drain the old coolant completely
Close the drain valve or reinstall the hose
Fill the system with distilled water or a flushing solution
Start the engine and run it with the heater on
Let it circulate for the recommended time
Shut off the engine and let it cool
Drain the flush fluid
Repeat until the drained fluid runs clear
Close the drain valve or reinstall the hose
Refill with the correct coolant mix
Bleed air from the cooling system
Top off the coolant reservoir
Check for leaks
Run the engine and verify normal temperature
Recheck coolant level after cooling and top off if needed
Dispose of old coolant properly
