Wash your hands
Use a clean nasal rinse bottle, neti pot, or syringe
Prepare sterile, distilled, or previously boiled and cooled water
Mix the water with the saline packet or a properly measured saline solution
Stand over a sink and lean forward with your head tilted slightly
Keep your mouth open and breathe through your mouth
Place the spout or tip into one nostril
Gently pour or squeeze the solution into the nostril
Let the liquid drain out of the other nostril or your mouth
Repeat on the other nostril
Blow your nose gently after rinsing
Clean and dry the device after use
Use only clean water each time
Stop if you feel pain, bleeding, or severe discomfort
