Review symptoms and medical history

Perform physical examination

Check blood pressure, including standing blood pressure

Order morning serum cortisol

Order plasma ACTH

Perform ACTH stimulation test

Measure serum electrolytes

Measure blood glucose

Check plasma renin and aldosterone

Test for adrenal antibodies

Consider adrenal imaging if needed

Evaluate for associated autoimmune conditions

Assess for adrenal crisis if symptoms are severe
