Detangle hair and section it into manageable parts
Put on gloves and protect skin and clothing
Choose the correct perm rods for the desired curl size
Wrap small, even sections of hair around the rods
Secure each rod firmly without pulling too tightly
Apply perm solution evenly to each wrapped section
Follow the product’s processing time exactly
Check curl formation as directed by the product instructions
Rinse hair thoroughly while rods are still in place
Apply neutralizer as directed by the product instructions
Leave neutralizer on for the recommended time
Remove rods carefully after neutralizing
Rinse hair again if required by the product instructions
Gently blot hair with a towel
Avoid combing, brushing, or heat styling immediately after perming
Do not wash hair for 48 to 72 hours after the perm
Use sulfate-free, curl-safe products for maintenance
Keep hair moisturized with conditioner or leave-in treatment
Trim damaged ends regularly
