Preheat the oven to 200°C / 400°F / Gas 6
Wash and dry the potatoes
Prick each potato several times with a fork
Rub the potatoes with a little oil
Sprinkle with salt
Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking tray
Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, depending on size
Turn once halfway through if desired
Check they are soft inside by piercing with a knife
Remove from the oven
Cut open the potatoes
Fluff the insides with a fork
Add your chosen toppings and serve
