Gather nail polish, base coat, top coat, makeup sponge, small brush, nail polish remover, and tape or liquid latex
Clean and shape your nails
Push back cuticles and remove any oils from the nail surface
Apply a base coat and let it dry
Apply tape or liquid latex around the skin to protect it
Paint the two or more polish colors in horizontal stripes on the makeup sponge
Dab the sponge lightly onto the nail
Reapply polish to the sponge and repeat dabbing until the color blends well
Let the ombre layer dry
Clean excess polish from the skin with a brush dipped in nail polish remover
Apply a top coat to smooth the gradient and seal the design
Let the nails dry completely
