Wash and dry your hands

Hold the file at a slight angle to the nail edge
File in one direction from the outer edge toward the center
Avoid sawing back and forth
Keep the file level with the nail shape you want
Shape each nail evenly
Round the corners slightly if desired
Check both hands for symmetry
Smooth rough edges with a finer file
Finish by washing your hands and applying moisturizer
