How To Draw A Butterfly?

Draw a small circle near the center of your page for the butterfly’s body.

Add a slightly curved line beneath the circle for the thorax/body.

Sketch two large symmetrical wing shapes on left and right, like rounded teardrops, mirrored across the center.

Lightly outline the outer edges of the wings with smooth curves.

Add inner wing lines by drawing a few curved arcs from the body toward the outer edges.

Draw antennae extending upward from the top of the body, with slight curves.

Add a head detail by extending a small oval at the top of the body.

Add vein-like lines inside each wing using thin, flowing curves.

Draw a few spots or bands on the wings (keep them mirrored on both sides).

Refine the wing edges and erase any extra construction lines.

Thicken the outlines with a darker line.

Color the butterfly wings with your chosen palette, keeping left and right matching or complementary.

Add shading by lightly darkening near the body and along some wing veins.

Finish with small highlights on the wings and body for contrast.
