How to Dry Flowers in the Microwave?

Step 1

Choose fresh, dry flowers with no visible moisture

Step 2

Trim stems to the desired length

Step 3

Remove damaged petals and excess leaves

Step 4

Place flowers in a microwave-safe container

Step 5

Cover the flowers completely with silica gel

Step 6

Gently shake the container to settle the silica gel around the petals

Step 7

Put the container in the microwave

Step 8

Heat on low power for 30 to 60 seconds at a time

Step 9

Check the flowers after each interval

Step 10

Repeat short heating intervals until the flowers are dry

Step 11

Let the container cool before removing the flowers

Step 12

Brush off any remaining silica gel carefully

Step 13

Store the dried flowers in a dry place
