Check that your laptop has an HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, or VGA output
Check that your second screen has a matching input port
Connect the laptop to the second screen with the correct cable or adapter
Turn on the second screen
On Windows, press Win + P and choose Extend
On Mac, go to System Settings, then Displays, and arrange the screens
Open Display settings on your laptop
Select Extend these displays if needed
Adjust screen resolution and scaling if needed
Drag windows between the two screens to confirm dual screen mode
Set the second screen as primary if desired
Use a docking station or USB-C hub if your laptop has limited ports
