File the top coat off until the shine is gone
Soak cotton pads in acetone
Place acetone-soaked pads on each nail
Wrap each finger with aluminum foil to hold pads in place
Wait 10–20 minutes
Remove foil and pads
Gently push off softened gel with a cuticle pusher
If gel remains, repeat acetone soaking for 5–10 minutes
Buff any remaining residue lightly with a fine-grit buffer
Wash hands and moisturize cuticles and nails
If you feel burning or intense pain, remove immediately and rinse with cool water
