Check the bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, and laundry area
Use your phone to call the key fob if it has a tracker or connected app
Use a Bluetooth tracker app if the fob is attached to one
Listen for the fob’s sound if it has a built-in alarm feature
Ask people you were with if they saw it
Check lost and found at places you visited
Search under furniture, cushions, and between car seats
Look in coat pockets, purse compartments, and backpack pockets
Use a flashlight to inspect dark or tight spaces
Search the trash and recycling if you recently handled items there
Check with your workplace, gym, store, or restaurant
Contact your dealership, locksmith, or car manufacturer if you cannot find it
Disable or reprogram the fob if you think it was stolen
Keep a spare key fob in a safe place for backup
