Check fortress rooms and corridors for soul sand patches with red plants
Harvest Nether Wart with any tool or by hand
Collect Nether Wart from Bastion Remnants if present in the loot or growing areas
Use a Potion of Fire Resistance or other protection before exploring the Nether
Bring blocks to mark explored fortress paths
Use a map or coordinates to return to found fortress locations
Trade with Piglins for a chance to receive Nether Wart
Check ruined portals and fortress chests for related loot if available
