Avoid strenuous activity, bending, or heavy lifting
Protect the eye with a shield if instructed
Do not drive yourself to the hospital
Undergo prompt treatment such as laser surgery, freezing treatment, pneumatic retinopexy, scleral buckle, or vitrectomy as directed by an eye specialist
Follow all postoperative positioning instructions exactly
Use prescribed eye drops and medications as directed
Attend all follow-up appointments
Watch for worsening vision, flashes, floaters, or pain and seek urgent care if they occur
