Use a few drops of warm mineral oil, baby oil, glycerin, or over-the-counter ear drops to soften the wax
Tilt your head and keep the drops in the ear for a few minutes
Use a bulb syringe with warm water to gently rinse the ear
Let the water drain out by tilting your head the other way
Gently dry the outer ear with a clean towel
Repeat once daily for a few days if needed
Stop if you have pain, dizziness, ringing, or drainage
Do not use cotton swabs, hairpins, or other objects in the ear
Do not flush the ear if you have a perforated eardrum, ear tubes, or an ear infection
See a doctor if the wax does not come out or if hearing loss persists
