Gather materials: glass sheets, glass cutter, running pliers, grozing pliers, grinder, copper foil or lead came, soldering iron, solder, flux, pattern, marker, safety glasses, gloves
Choose or draw a pattern
Make a full-size pattern and label each piece
Cut the pattern into separate pieces
Trace each pattern piece onto glass
Cut the glass pieces along the traced lines
Break off excess glass carefully
Grind edges until pieces fit together
Clean all glass pieces thoroughly
Wrap each piece with copper foil or fit into lead came
Burnish copper foil firmly if using foil
Arrange pieces on the pattern
Apply flux to the foiled seams or lead joints
Solder all joints together
Flip and solder the other side if needed
Attach a frame or reinforcement bars if required
Clean off flux residue
Polish the finished panel
Install the stained glass securely
