How To Flush Your Ears?

Use warm water only if a clinician has told you it is safe

Tilt your head and gently pull the outer ear up and back

Use a bulb syringe or ear irrigation kit with gentle pressure

Aim the water toward the side of the ear canal, not directly inward

Let the water drain out by tilting your head the other way

Repeat only a few times if needed

Dry the outer ear with a clean towel

Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, or hearing changes

Do not flush your ears if you have ear pain, a perforated eardrum, ear tubes, or an ear infection

Do not use cotton swabs or insert objects into the ear

See a healthcare professional if wax is impacted or symptoms persist
