Use warm water only if a clinician has told you it is safe
Tilt your head and gently pull the outer ear up and back
Use a bulb syringe or ear irrigation kit with gentle pressure
Aim the water toward the side of the ear canal, not directly inward
Let the water drain out by tilting your head the other way
Repeat only a few times if needed
Dry the outer ear with a clean towel
Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, or hearing changes
Do not flush your ears if you have ear pain, a perforated eardrum, ear tubes, or an ear infection
Do not use cotton swabs or insert objects into the ear
See a healthcare professional if wax is impacted or symptoms persist
