Create or sign in to your IRS Online Account
Complete the identity verification process
Follow the prompts to request an IP PIN
Check your IRS account for the assigned IP PIN
If you cannot verify online, file Form 15227 if eligible
If you cannot use Form 15227, make an appointment at an IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center
If the IRS has already assigned you an IP PIN, retrieve it from your online account or IRS notice
Keep your IP PIN secure and use it when filing your tax return
