How To Get Fingernail Polish Off Of Carpet?

Blot up any wet polish immediately with paper towels; do not rub

Scrape off any dried excess gently with a dull knife or spoon

Test acetone or non-acetone nail polish remover on a hidden carpet spot first

Apply a small amount of remover to a clean white cloth

Dab the stain from the outside toward the center

Blot with a dry cloth to lift the polish

Repeat with fresh cloths until the stain is gone

Rinse the area with a cloth dampened with cool water

Blot dry with clean towels

Apply a small amount of mild dish soap mixed with water if residue remains

Blot again with clean water to remove soap

Dry the carpet completely with towels and air circulation

Vacuum the area once fully dry to restore the fibers
