Freeze the shoe with the gum on it for 1 to 2 hours
Scrape off the hardened gum with a plastic card or dull knife
Use ice cubes in a plastic bag if you cannot freeze the shoe
Apply peanut butter or cooking oil to loosen the gum
Rub the gum with rubbing alcohol or vinegar
Wipe away residue with a damp cloth and mild soap
Use a toothbrush to clean grooves and soles
Repeat as needed until the gum is gone
Let the shoe dry completely after cleaning
