Check that you are legally eligible to officiate marriages in Missouri
Become ordained or otherwise authorized by a recognized religious organization if you are not already
Obtain proof of ordination or authorization from the organization
Confirm the county recorder or marriage license office in the county where the marriage will occur accepts your credentials
If required by the county, register your credentials with the local recorder of deeds or marriage license office
Bring valid identification and any required documentation when registering or performing the ceremony
Verify the couple has obtained a valid Missouri marriage license before the ceremony
Perform the ceremony in accordance with Missouri law
Complete the marriage license after the ceremony as required
Return the signed marriage license to the appropriate county office within the required time frame
