Blow your nose gently and often
Use saline nasal spray or drops
Rinse your nose with a saline rinse
Drink plenty of fluids
Inhale steam from a warm shower or bowl of hot water
Use a humidifier
Apply a warm compress over your nose and sinuses
Rest as much as possible
Avoid smoke, dust, and strong odors
Take an over-the-counter decongestant if appropriate
Take an over-the-counter antihistamine if allergies are the cause
Keep your head elevated
Wash your hands regularly
Seek medical care if symptoms are severe, last more than 10 days, or include fever, facial pain, or trouble breathing
