Keep feet clean and dry

Continue treatment for the full recommended time
Avoid walking barefoot in public showers, locker rooms, and pools
Wear shower sandals in shared wet areas
Trim and keep toenails clean
Disinfect nail clippers and other foot tools
Choose moisture-wicking socks
Avoid tight shoes that trap moisture
Treat athlete’s foot early to prevent spreading
Wash towels, socks, and bedding regularly
Do not share shoes, socks, or towels
See a doctor if it does not improve, worsens, or spreads
See a doctor if you have diabetes, poor circulation, or a weakened immune system
