Plant the seed in a pot with well-draining soil after chilling
Cover it with about 1 inch of soil
Water lightly and keep the soil moist, not soggy
Place the pot in a warm, sunny location
Wait for germination
Transplant the seedling outdoors after it is strong enough
Choose a sunny spot with well-draining soil
Protect the young tree from frost, pests, and drought
Water regularly during the first growing season
Prune as needed to encourage healthy growth
