Take prescribed pain medicine as directed
Ask your doctor about simethicone
Use a heating pad only if your surgeon says it is safe
Try gentle deep breathing
Follow all post-op instructions
Contact your surgeon if pain is severe or gas does not improve
Seek urgent care for fever, vomiting, swelling, shortness of breath, or worsening abdominal pain
