Remove the insoles and let them air out separately
Wash removable insoles with soap and water if the material allows it
Sprinkle baking soda inside the shoes overnight
Use activated charcoal sachets inside the shoes
Place dryer sheets inside the shoes after use
Spray a shoe deodorizer or disinfectant spray inside the shoes
Wipe the inside with rubbing alcohol on a cloth
Let shoes dry completely after each wear
Rotate between pairs so each pair can fully dry
Wear moisture-wicking socks
Change socks daily or more often if needed
Use foot powder to reduce sweat
Wash feet regularly and dry them well
Treat athlete’s foot or other foot infections if present
Put shoes in direct sunlight briefly if the material is safe for it
Freeze shoes in a sealed bag overnight if appropriate for the material
Replace worn-out insoles
Clean the shoes according to the manufacturer’s instructions
Store shoes in a dry, ventilated place
Use cedar shoe inserts or cedar balls
Avoid wearing the same shoes for long periods without drying them
Replace shoes if the odor persists permanently
