Freeze the shoe with ice or a freezer bag until the gum hardens
Scrape off the hardened gum with a plastic scraper, spoon, or dull knife
Apply peanut butter, cooking oil, or petroleum jelly to loosen the gum
Rub the gum gently with a cloth or paper towel
Use rubbing alcohol or vinegar on a cloth to break down residue
Wipe the area clean with warm soapy water
Repeat as needed until the gum is removed
Dry the shoe completely after cleaning
Test any cleaner on a small hidden area first
