Scrape egg masses into alcohol, hand sanitizer, or soapy water
Crush nymphs and adults when seen

Remove tree-of-heaven and other preferred host plants if possible
Prune and destroy heavily infested branches
Bag and dispose of infested material according to local regulations
Wash vehicles, equipment, and outdoor items before moving them

Check and treat nearby plants repeatedly throughout the season
