Check the care label before treating the stain
Blot the spot with a clean white cloth or paper towel
Rinse the stained area with cold water from the back of the fabric
Apply a small amount of liquid laundry detergent directly to the spot
Gently rub the fabric together or use a soft brush
Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes
Rinse thoroughly with cold water
For tough stains, soak the item in oxygen bleach and cold water
Wash the clothing in the hottest water safe for the fabric
Add laundry detergent and, if safe, oxygen bleach
Inspect the stain before drying
Repeat the treatment if the spot remains
Air dry until the stain is fully gone
Avoid using heat on stained fabric until the stain is removed
