How To Identify A Wart?

Growth on the skin that is usually rough, uneven, or cauliflower-like

Small, firm bump with defined edges

Often skin-colored, tan, brown, or gray

May have tiny black dots (clotted capillaries) within the surface

Can be flat, especially on the face or hands (flat warts)

May grow in clusters (especially on hands and feet)

Common locations include fingers, hands, elbows, knees, and soles of the feet

On the sole (plantar wart), may appear painful when pressing from the sides

May have interrupted skin lines over the spot (more typical of warts than calluses)

Can spread through direct contact or by shaving/cutting the skin

More likely if there’s a history of warts or exposure through shared surfaces (e.g., locker rooms)
