Do not try to induce vomiting unless a poison control center, medical professional, or emergency services specifically tells you to do so
Call Poison Control now if you may have swallowed something harmful: 1-800-222-1222 in the U.S. or your local emergency number
Call emergency services immediately if the person has trouble breathing, is unconscious, having seizures, has chest pain, or is severely drowsy
Do not induce vomiting after swallowing bleach, acids, alkalis, gasoline, kerosene, detergents, or other corrosive or petroleum products
Do not induce vomiting if the person is confused, sleepy, having a seizure, or cannot swallow safely
Do not use salt, syrup of ipecac, fingers, or any object to trigger vomiting
If instructed by Poison Control or a clinician, follow their exact directions only
If the person is awake and able to swallow, keep them calm and have the product container ready when you call for help
If the person is vomiting already, keep them on their side to reduce choking risk
If the exposure was to a chemical on skin or in the eyes, rinse with lots of water immediately
If the exposure was to a poison, follow the emergency instructions given by Poison Control or emergency services
