Measure the window width and height
Choose inside-mount or outside-mount placement
Gather a drill, screws, brackets, screwdriver, level, pencil, and tape measure
Hold the brackets in position and mark the screw holes
Drill pilot holes if needed
Attach the brackets securely with screws
Insert the blinds into the brackets
Lock the blinds into place according to the manufacturer’s design
Test the blinds to make sure they open and close properly
Install the valance or cover if included
Trim any excess cord if necessary and safe to do so
Clean the area and check that all hardware is tight
