Check the new fan size and venting requirements
Mark the installation location between ceiling joists
Cut the ceiling opening if needed
Secure the fan housing to the joists or framing
Connect the electrical wiring according to the manufacturer’s instructions
Attach the duct to the fan outlet
Run the duct to an exterior vent
Seal duct joints with foil tape
Install the vent cap outside
Mount the fan grille or cover
Restore power and test the fan
Check for proper airflow and noise
Seal any gaps around the housing or ductwork
