Disconnect the negative battery terminal
Locate the camshaft sensor on the engine
Remove any engine cover or intake parts blocking access
Unplug the electrical connector from the sensor
Remove the retaining bolt or screws
Pull the old sensor straight out
Compare the new sensor with the old sensor
Lightly lubricate the O-ring if equipped
Insert the new sensor into position
Install and tighten the retaining bolt or screws
Reconnect the electrical connector
Reinstall any removed engine cover or intake parts
Reconnect the negative battery terminal
Start the engine and check for proper operation
Clear any diagnostic trouble codes if needed
