Locate the water filter compartment in the refrigerator
Turn the old filter counterclockwise or press the release button, depending on the model
Pull the old filter straight out
Remove the protective cap from the new filter if present
Align the new filter with the slot
Insert the new filter fully into the compartment
Turn the new filter clockwise or push it in until it locks, depending on the model
Run water through the dispenser for several minutes
Flush several gallons of water through the filter
Reset the filter indicator light if your refrigerator has one
