Measure the area and calculate the amount of turf, base material, and infill needed
Remove existing grass, weeds, rocks, and debris
Excavate the area to the required depth
Grade the surface for proper drainage
Install edging or border restraints around the perimeter
Compact the subgrade firmly
Add and spread a crushed stone or decomposed granite base
Moisten and compact the base in layers until firm and level
Lay geotextile weed barrier fabric over the base
Roll out the synthetic turf and let it acclimate
Cut turf pieces to fit the area
Position turf with fibers facing the same direction
Join seams with seam tape and adhesive
Secure the turf edges with landscape nails or staples
Trim excess turf along borders and obstacles
Brush the turf fibers upright
Spread infill evenly across the surface
Brush the infill into the fibers
Inspect for wrinkles, gaps, and loose edges
Make final adjustments and clean the installed turf
