Turn off the water supply
Remove the old tub spout if needed
Check the pipe type and spout connection style
Clean the pipe threads or pipe end
Apply plumber’s tape to threaded pipe connections
Slide the new slip-on spout onto the pipe if applicable
Tighten the set screw if the spout uses one
Screw the threaded spout onto the pipe if applicable
Align the spout so it faces straight out
Tighten securely without over-tightening
Turn the water back on
Test for leaks and proper water flow
