Park on a flat, solid surface
Put the car in park or in first gear
Engage the parking brake
Chock the wheels that will stay on the ground
Check the owner’s manual for the correct jacking points
Position the jack under the proper jacking point
Raise the car slowly until the tire clears the ground
Place jack stands under the approved support points
Lower the car onto the jack stands
Gently shake the car to confirm it is stable
Never work under a car supported only by a jack
When finished, raise the car slightly, remove the jack stands, and lower it slowly
Remove the jack and wheel chocks after the car is fully on the ground
