Use bee guards or bee-proof hummingbird feeders
Choose feeders with small feeding ports
Remove yellow parts from the feeder
Move the feeder to a shadier location
Keep the feeder clean and free of spills
Wipe nectar drips off the outside of the feeder
Use a 1:4 sugar-to-water nectar mix
Replace nectar regularly
Hang the feeder away from flowers that attract bees
Place the feeder in a less bee-active area
Add an ant moat to reduce insect access
Temporarily take the feeder down during peak bee activity
Use multiple small feeders instead of one large feeder
Avoid overfilling the feeder
Check for leaks and seal any openings
